Sharapova announced his resignation via Facebook account yesterday. He called a shoulder injury suffered last week has not been recovered.
A few moments later the U.S. Open organizers confirm it.
Sharapova admitted in his statement was struggling with a right shoulder injury. He suffered inflammation that performed poorly in the Cincinnati Open. Sharapova directly eliminated in the first game against Sloane Stephens. He then fired Jimmy Connors after only together in a single competitive match.
"I did everything I could do since Wimbledon. I want to be ready but not enough time available. I have undergone a series of tests, received a lot of opinions and all that leads so I have to take time to recover the injury," Sharapova unhkap.

"It certainly was not an easy decision to skip one of my favorite tournaments. But I know this is the right decision in order to return to the field as soon as possible. Few weeks I plan to rest, proper treatment and rehabilitation," said the 26-year-old.
At the U.S. Open this year should occupy the third seed Sharapova, under Serena Williams (USA) and Victoria Azarenka (Belarus). Thus, the fourth seed Agnieszka Radwanska (Poland) and another leading up one position lower.
"We wish a speedy recovery to Mary and saw her return to New York next year," said David Brewer, U.S. Open tournament director.
