Boxwood (Latin: Cananga odorata) is the name for a type of flower and tree that produced it. There are two forms ylang, namely macrophylla, commonly known as ylang, and genuina, known as the Philippines or ylang ylang-ylang. Ylang-ylang also a tree, but not as high as usual ylang tree. Boxwood shrubs are usually planted in the yard, can only grow at three meters high.
Regular ylang is a native plant in Indonesia and ylang-ylang plant native Philippines. Boxwood is also commonly grown in Polynesia, Melanesia, and Micronesia. In Indonesia, ylang flowers occupy many roles in the special ceremonies such as the marriage ceremony. Boxwood is the floral identity of Aceh and North Sumatra.

Flower ylang are good and appropriate for the interest that has been harvested is yellow.
Harvesting cultivated early in the morning, before sunrise, this is done to avoid the evaporation of essential oil compounds.

One example of the benefits of ylang flowers that have been applied are as anti-mosquito spray medicine. This refers to the results of research that has been done by applying ylang flower extract on guinea pig's body. The content of essential oils contained in ylang flower extract is then absorbed into the pores of the guinea pig. Furthermore, the presence of a mixture of sweat and essential oils will evaporate into the air and cause odors. The odor will be detected by chemical receptors found in the body of the mosquito and forwarded to the central nerve impulses. It is then responded to the brain in order to avoid mosquito body of guinea pigs.  Although until now the price of anti mosquito ylang flower extract is expensive, but it does not cause side effects like most other anti-mosquito drugs.
