Renault Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel ready to go back to add an edge over his opponents. After "only" a third place finish in the last race in Hungary, he showed signs will win in Belgium. Yesterday (23/8) Vettel posted the fastest time on the first day of practice session at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps.
Day training session that took place on a dry track makes Vettel can maximize the speed of his car. In the morning session, when the wet track, Vettel was only able to record the sixth fastest time.
Vettel leads Red Bull 1-2 in a position to win a training session yesterday. With a time of 1 minute 49.331 seconds, 0.058 seconds ahead of Vettel as his team Mark Webber. Although both thin gap, they are well ahead of other teams.

But Grosjean to 0.818 seconds adrift of Vettel. Meanwhile Felipe Massa held the fourth position (Ferrari) who left 0.833 seconds.
The second practice session yesterday was not smooth sailing for Vettel. When the second practice session 20 minutes left, the right rear tire exploded. Tire damage that occurs after Vettel tried to do the long run by using the medium tire. Vettel finished up training sessions and camps Red Bull still do not know the cause.
"We do not know what happened. Basically I lost the right rear tire with very abruptly. But regardless of that we get a positive day," said Vettel.
On a cloudy afternoon session, most teams chose to use the medium compound tires. Competition was interesting in the beginning of the session. Nico Hulkenberg (Sauber-Ferrari), Daniel Ricciardo (ToroRosso-Ferrari), Pastor Maldonaldo (Williams-Renault) and Paul di Resta (Force India-Mercedes) alternately clocked the fastest time in the beginning of the session. Massa and Webber changed their shift.
After a 11 minute walking session, Sebastian Vettel started to take over. German rider was competing in a record time with Webber, the rest only two of them are competing.
Meanwhile, Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg of Mercedes has yet to show a competitive pace in the two practice sessions yesterday. Rosberg at the end of the session only while Hamilton finished ninth in the 12th position.
"It's not a tough day, just not good enough. I am having trouble, the car does not feel as good in the last race (GP Hungary), but I still hope. I do not think our car bad, just need find the right setting," said Hamilton.
When asked about his chances of returning to a pole position or fastest rider in qualifying, Hamilton full of doubts.
"For now we do not dare speak pole. Automobiles are not in a good pace. Tonight but hopefully we can change it," he added later.
